Let's start with the basics: what is hair botox? First of all, rest assured, it's not at all about injections like botox for the face. Botox capillaire is an ultra-nourishing treatment that restructures, rejuvenates" the hair fiber and gives hair a healthy appearance.
It's not a smoothing product like Brazilian straightening, but a treatment that rehydrates and nourishes hair to repair and revive it.
Composition and benefits of hair botox
The composition ofhair botox can differ according to brand, and if performed in an institute, according to where it's done. However, this treatment is generally composed largely of keratin and hyaluronic acid.
Hair is naturally 95% keratin. This protein protects hair from various external factors that attack it, such as UV rays, and provides strength and shine. However, it does not renew itself during the life of the hair, which is why it is important to favor products containing this protein such as keratin shampoos.
Hyaluronic acid, which is also naturally present in the body, helps nourish and moisturize hair, restoring suppleness and elasticity.
These two components are quite well known for repairing hair, and when coupled in the same treatment, help restore shine, make hair more resistant, promote growth and limit breakage and fall, smooth the scales... This combo offers a real rejuvenation cure for hair!
Hair botox: for whom?

The hair botox treatment protocol
Below you'll find the various steps followed by salon professionals to perform a botox hair treatment. Please note, however, that the method may vary from one professional to another. Note that it is entirely possible to perform this treatment yourself at home.
- To begin with, two treatment shampoos are applied to remove impurities and product residues, moisturize the hair and open its scales so that the hair botox penetrates and adheres well.
- Then, on untangled, slightly damp hair, the treatment is applied strand by strand with a brush (don't forget the gloves) all over the hair without touching the scalp. The hair is then massaged by hand and combed through with a tightly bristled brush to spread the product.
- The product is left on for around twenty minutes under a heated helmet to boost the effect of the botox and make it penetrate more easily. Once this stage has been completed, the hair is dried without rinsing.
- 24 to 48 hours later, the time it takes for the product to take effect, it will be possible to wash hair with a sulfate-free shampoo and discover the final result. Be careful, during this waiting time, you mustn't use heating accessories on your hair, as they may burn the fiber.
How much does hair botox cost?
