You knew the oil and nigella seeds. Biomiel and Co now brings you one of the most delicious honeys you've ever tasted, nigella honey (honey from nigella flowers)! This honey is produced by bees from the Egyptian high mountains directly from nigella flowers (we've analyzed this honey in the laboratory and the results are everything we hoped for and more).
This plant, also known as black cumin, flowers once a year. Its flowering period is relatively short, lasting only the summer. But the bees found in the mountains of Egypt take advantage of this time to actively gather nectar from these flowers. This rare honey is then harvested by beekeepers to bring you all its benefits.
It's 100% natural, with no artificial flavoring. This is what gives honey its dark, almost black color, intense flavor and slow crystallization. All these characteristics make it a top-quality product. With its dark color and beautiful texture, it offers many advantages. Enjoy the quality of this natural product and its medicinal virtues. Creamy texture, magnificent sweet and delicate mouthfeel.
Color: Honey quite dark, brown, maroon
Aspect: Creamy texture, moderately thick, very pleasant
Taste: One of a kind, both delicate and powerful, sweet but not too sweet, one of the best honeys in terms of taste.
The different varieties of honey can inherit properties from the plants used to make them. The molecules contained in foraged flowers can be found in honey. Black cumin is well known for its powerful and extremely numerous pharmacological properties.
Nigella honey has therefore been the subject of several research studies, which have demonstrated its antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal virtues.
In Egypt, it is obviously used to garnish dishes and drinks, but above all to treat oneself: colds, flus, allergies, infections, skin wounds...
Different clinical trials have suggested that it is effective in treating infected wounds and certain types of mycosis, thanks to its antimicrobial properties.
In addition to the particularities of black cumin, the components of honey enable:
- Strengthen the immune system
- Improve wound healing
- Regulate intestinal transit
- Balance the intestinal microbiota
- Support gastrointestinal problems
- Calming throat inflammation and cough
- Fight inflammatory reactions in the body
- Fight oxidative stress and free radicals
- Recover energy
- Provide vitamins, antioxidants and minerals .
- Nigella honey is consumed pure or diluted in a glass of warm water or milk. You can take this preparation in the morning on an empty stomach and/or in the evening before bedtime.
- It's perfect as a sugar replacement in your teas, coffees, juices, yogurts, fromage frais, fruit salads... Or on toast and breakfast preparations, snacks and sweet and savoury dishes.
- In the event of a light wound/surface wound/light burn/sunburn, you can make a honey dressing, using a clean, dry compress.
- To preserve all the benefits of habba sawda honey, we recommend that you don't heat it above 40°C and don't pour boiling water over it.
- If your honey crystallizes because of the cold, simply place it in a bain-marie for a few moments to liquefy.
Our nigella honey is a pure monofloral honey, meaning it comes from the exclusive foraging of Egyptian nigella flowers.
Crops of nigella grow in the high mountains and bloom in summer, the season during which bees forage the flowers to produce this excellent quality honey.
Honey is then harvested by beekeepers with respect for the noble craft.
